One of the most important steps in inventory management and shipment processes in the glass industry is the accurate counting of packaged glass. Until now, the counting of float glass and laminated glass has mostly relied on manual control by employees. This method both caused a waste of time and brought the risk of undercounting or overcounting due to human error.
The PaneAI – artificial intelligence-supported image processing software we have developed eliminates this problem and adds reliability to the process.
What Does PaneAI Do?
- It detects the type, dimensions and thickness of the glass.
- It counts the number of glasses in the package with an accuracy rate of 99.58%.
Thus, it makes both stock tracking and the shipment process error-free.
The system analyzes camera images taken from different angles during the transfer of packages from the production line to the warehouse.
- The width and height of the glass are measured with the front view.
- The number and thickness of the glass are determined with the top view.
- Both flat glass and laminated glass can be tracked in real time in as little as 60 – 90 seconds as vehicles pass by the artificial intelligence station.
In this way, the risk of underloading or overloading in shipments leaving the factory is eliminated and customer satisfaction increases.
